A boss represents the person on top of us in the organization. He/she is the leader and in-charge of how your department or organizational unit moves to the right direction. Sometimes, though, the boss may be a difficult person to work for and in effect, decrease your motivation to give your best in the workplace. You might even be working for one right now. How cruel can life get, right?
You can define a difficult boss as someone whom your working habits are not in tuned with. Perhaps he/she might be too demanding, intimidating, lazy, etc. This is why it is important that you get to know who will you report for during your interview as you will be working for this person for some time. What should you do if your impressions of your to-be boss during the interview are not the same as when you started working?
Just like any problem, you have to learn how to deal with your boss in order to perform well. First, assess if your problem is really a problem. Nobody likes a whiner. Ask your colleagues. If everybody's feeling the same thing, then you're probably right.
